Game Theory A Katerina Carter Fraud Thriller Katerina Carter Fraud Legal Thriller Series Volume 2 Colleen Cross Books

I am very disappointed in this book. The first in the series, Exit Strategy, was very intriguing and I was fascinated by the vast knowledge of forensic accounting, and the whole plot was so creative and the story moved right along. But Game Theory is just off. The plot is so much of a hodgepodge, slow moving, and the thought process of the main character is so unreasonable. For a mind like hers, that is supposedly so sharp and detail-oriented, to miss so many obvious facts and not draw the correct conclusions much faster is just so frustrating to read. And her priorities are whacked. I am 80% through it and I do not know if I can stand to finish it. My suggestion to Colleen Cross is to stick to an organized story board and look for illogical thinking.

Game Theory A Katerina Carter Fraud Thriller Katerina Carter Fraud Legal Thriller Series Volume 2 Colleen Cross Books Reviews

Out of all the Kat Carter books I think I liked this one the best. I'm a sucker for conspirary theories and New World Order stuff, but what really sucked me into the story was Kat's personal tragedy with Uncle Harry slowly losing his wits. It was very touching because I experienced something similiar in my own life. If you like thrillers with excitement AND a heart (and humor) you should definitely give this book a try!
Good read. Liked the characters.
I didn't want this book to end!! Both Colleen Cross's books are very well written, I highly recommend Exit Strategy too!!
I'm looking forward to the next book.
Nothing about Game Thoery. Regular thriller. In fact, the revelations come in early in the book and I did not see a mystery. This has more of drama. I've read her Exit Strategy, it was a much better book. Too much exaggeration about the currency rigging and world economics, here and there. Could have been more realistic.
Game Theory, a mystery about global fraud, is fast-paced and captivating. The author successfully merges Kat Carter’s personal and business life to create a well-rounded world for her main character. As a strong protagonist, Kat uses her wits to ensure justice is served in this chilling tale of political conspiracy. A must read!
Read from July 19 to 20, 2014

Just as Kat Carter thinks she's happier than she has been in a quite a while, things start to unravel. Her divorce case has concluded to her client's benefit. Jace and Kat are in a good place, but her Uncle Harry has been officially diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and his finances are in the basement. His Flu like symptoms are not any better, either. And he has begun to talk about Hillary again, like she is in town. Is she? And is Hillary the reason for Harry's money problems? Will Jace leave her like her father did when Kat's mother was also falling deeper into that horrible disease?

Adding to Kat's worries is her client, Zachary Barron. Winning his divorce case is nothing compared to the job he hires Kat for. Zach wants Kat to prove that his father, Nathan, has been embezzling from the Company he and Nathan own. What Kat discovers is major fraud within the company that is the poster child for all Ponzi schemes tied to a secretive global think tank called World institute whose powerful members want a global one currency and are willing to do anything - even murder - to achieve that goal. Jace is only one of WI's victims, effectively silenced him. Kat races to save her client, Harry, and Edgewaters' clients before any more bodies fall while trying to save the global currency markets. She knows all too well that very precious things come at a very high cost.

Colleen Cross has taken stories in the headlines and created a good suspense novel. The suspense builds at a wonderful speed. Her writing is good and tight. However, a couple of scenes do stretch the boundaries of belief, hence 1/2 star deduction. I can't wait for the 3rd novel in this series!
I found this novel was a bit over the top. There are two parallell storys going on, One involving a fraud and the World Institute; the other on the home front involves the Uncle and Kats cousin, that is a psychopat, and there is no connection between these two stories. The main story involves the World Institute. The author writes that the World Institute is fictitious. However, it seems to be modeled on - or at least inspired by - the Bilderberg group.. They even share the start year, 1954. (And there is a lot of rumours and conspiration theories connected to the Bilderberg group, that Ms Cross has used in the description of the World Institute.) If you never have heard of the Bilderberg goup the description of the World Institute may seem too unrealistic.
The other story (the side story?) involves the psychopatic cousin Hillary. I think it was a mistake to use her in the same novel as the World Institute. It was just too much. I expected the whole time that Hillary was involved in the World Institute, that she may have been the murderess in the first chapter, that could have justified her turning up in this novel. Now the nowel just become crammed.with chaotic events.
